Pearsall`s Gossamer Silk Thread
Pearsall's Gossamer is unlike any currently manufactured silk. Approximate size is between 6/0 and 8/0 and has 8oz breaking strength. What makes this thread so popular with critical tiers is that this thread is properly burnished and finished silk. This fine silk looks as though it has been poured into place. It is made from strands of silk so long that few fiber ends are left to interfere. There just aren't many fuzzies to singe when you wrap with Gossamer. The twist of the thread is the real magic. Gossamer's twist is very consistent but not too tight. This silk thread does not mottle when properly finished. -Color Information - Brown is darker than Java Brown. Java Brown is a popular rod wrapping thread. Antique Gold has a deeper hue (less yellow) than Gold. Claret is a deeper (more purple hue) than Carinal Red. Cardinal Red is deeper than the bright Scarlet Red. Classic Chestnut is a light brown with a golden hue and traditional for Partridge and Orange soft hackles. Gold (6a) and Hot Orange are also popular Partridge and Orange colors. Hot Orange is the most popular. Primrose Yellow is lighter than Lemon Yellow. |
