Nestor
Dupo
Sweden & Philippines
Nestor is a
long time resident of Sweden . He learned to fly fish and tie flies about 10 years
ago. At first, he only tied trout flies for himself, friends, and some
fishing shops in Sweden. Now, he mostly ties hair wing salmon flies,
especially tube flies, using mostly fox and bear. He has a business in the
Philippines where he raises guinea,
turkey, and golden pheasants for the feathers but purchase the rest mostly from
the United States. He teaches interested people to tie, especially using
the weaving method, whenever he can.
Nestor has won many awards for his talent. Most recently he won first place in the Trout Unlimited's "Hair Wings Atlantic Salmon" fly tying contest in Reno Nevada last year. In his own words... "I am still learning, I read books, learn from old timers, and practice when ever I have time." Like many excellent tiers, he's never satisfied and continues to work toward improving his skills.
Note by Ed Gallop: I've had the opportunity to handle Nestor's flies up close while photographing them and can attest to his talent. They are some of the best tied flies I've ever seen and we are fortunate to have him participate on this site. I'm honored to know him.

reflective characteristics, so this picture doesn't do it justice.

Brown should be in sizes 8 and 10. Gray should be 8 to 12 and green should be in sizes 10 to 12.
There is a lot of confusion concerning the Drake mayflies.
Some think Brown Drakes are March Browns, but they are two different mayfly species.
Some anglers believe Gray Drakes are Green Drakes in their egg laying (spinner) stage but they are actually two different mayflies. However, the Gray Drake is a good imitation to use during the Green Drake's spinner stage.
The important thing is having the closest possible color and size as the natural. Having these three on hand should fill that need.
