Jerry P. McKaughan (aka: woodenlegs)
Pottsville, Arkansas (Date: 2008)
I
started fly-fishing and tying in 1998, the tying came first. My first fishing
experience was in southern New Mexico on the Rio Penasco River. That’s where I
fell in love with the whole fly-fishing thing, mostly because of the outdoors
and solitude environment. We lived in Amarillo, Texas at the time and have since
moved to Arkansas, where I have met a lot of nice people fishing. I've
made a lot of lifetime friends through clubs and outings.
One thing I have found is that to get the real experience you need to get involved in a club or organization similar to the Federation of Flyfishers. There are numerous activities to stretch your mind and expand your knowledge.
