Gianluca Nocentini
Prato, Italy

I was born in 1943 and am a textile agent living in the commercial city of Prato, located in Tuscany near Florence.  This area of north central Italy is known for it's fabulous scenery, warm hospitality, renaissance art, and superb wines.

Fishing has been a hobby since I was 8 years old and have been fly fly fishing since I was 32.

I often go fishing when free from work and family.  My favorite is dry fly fishing for grayling and trout but I also enjoy sitting on the bank and watching the behavior of nature around me.  I especially enjoy catching and releasing very selective fish rising in slow water.

My favorite places to fish are unfortunately far from home, in Austria and Northern Europe, particularly Sweden, Norway, and Finland.  Those areas contain an abundance of grayling, trout, and splendid nature.

Fly tying is a hobby and I am very glad to share my fly patterns on this web-site with others of the same interest.
