Fly
Tying World
The
participants of this web site are fly tiers from around the world. You
will find tiers from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, England, France,
Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Macedonia, Netherlands, New Zealand,
Philippines, Russia, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, USA, and Yugoslavia.
Most are hobbyist displaying some of their favorite flies and others are
professionals who sell their flies, materials, books, guide services, etc.
This web site is not for the so called purist who turn up their noses at what they define as imperfections but is for anyone interested in the art and craft of fly tying. We have some of the world's most talented tiers display their fantastic works of art (pictured above right tied by Jean-Paul Dessaigne). We also have proud beginners display their accomplishments (pictured below right is by 5 year old Ed Gallop Jr.) and tiers of all levels in between. It doesn't bother us if a so called purist refuses to participate because it isn't up to their standards but we do not want anyone to refuse because they think another tier might criticize their work. We benefit from all level of tiers so encourage you to participate.
New tiers and additional information are added frequently making this a continuously expanding web site. If you want to participate all you have to do is submit your request to flies@flytyingworld.com. It is important to type "Flies" in the subject line to be received (prevents unnecessary SPAM). It's FREE !
You
may submit flies without a personal tier's introduction if you wish. They
will be displayed as anonymous or with your name as the tier. If you
participate with your introduction the criteria is as follows:
1. Email an attached digital picture of yourself or send a photograph to Fly Tying World (address below) so it can be scanned and returned if desired.
2. Email an introduction so others will know something about you. It can be as much as you are willing to share.
3. Send a minimum of 3 flies and up to a dozen (or more but not all at once) to the address below. They will be photographed and retained for future reference. Please send to:
Fly Tying World
222 Golf Course Road
Stuart VA 24171
4. Please email fly recipes and if you want to include instructions send that too. It would be appreciated.
Note: Your page is dedicated to you, so whatever you want there is your choice.
